Steve Tawiah Bortie widely known as DJ Lalo has shared a fascinating revelation about his career as a Disc Jockey.

DJ Lalo as he is popularly known rose to fame back in 2001 with his creative mixes of songs which had a perfect rhythmic effect and was enjoyed by many Ghanaians.

DJ Lalo who was then working as a radio presenter with Obonu FM thrilled Ghanaians every Friday nights with back-to-back mixes of ‘Asokpor’ and his creative way of enticing his fans.

Speaking in an interview on 3FM Drive with Giovani Caleb, he disclosed that he was motivated to improve his skills as a DJ due to the exploits of Samuel Teye Nartey alias DJ Awana formerly of Adom FM.

He said back then while listening to DJ Awana, he was convinced he could do better than he did and took a bold decision to master his craft which has thus brought him far.

“I have to tell you a secret. It was because of DJ Awana that is why you saw me grown big like this. Those days when Adom FM was in Tema, I lived in Tema too and I felt I could do more than he was doing and every you pass on Friday Awana nie ooo.  And I was like ah why this guy I can do better than him so I decided to sharpen my tools and I overtook all of them,” he narrated.
