Viewers of UTV were stunned when multiple-award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty confronted the host of United Showbiz MzGee.
MzGee’s remark that Empress Gifty only rants on her show on her social media pages after releasing her songs infuriated the famous gospel singer.
Empress Gifty, immediately responded: “You can’t tell me that, I don’t like that. I’m really hurt.” The overly disdained “Aseda” crooner explained that everything now is about social media, “You have to adopt different promotional strategies so if you don’t see me on TV doesn’t mean I am not working hard…I use my platform to promote my songs and other people’s songs.So don’t ever tell me that again”
MzGee tried to explain that she was just making an observation, but Empress Gifty was not having it. She continued to defend herself, saying that gospel musicians work just as hard as any other kind of musician.
However, one thing was clear: the two women had a very different understanding of what it means to be a gospel musician.
