The flag bearer of the opposition , John Dramani Mahama has described the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration as an “outgoing ”.

He used the expression while expressing his concern over the possible mis use of the $600 million loan facility,

With some eleven months left for the elections on December 7, 2024, the former President’s confidence of winning the polls gives him no doubt to describe the incumbent as an outgoing administration — a description that’s given to a regime that has lost power.

In a post Wednesday, January 24, 2024, Mr. Mahama, whilst expressing concern over the continuous suffering of Ghanaians under the NPP, was very optimistic the elephant will go to opposition after the December 7 polls.

“Before that, I again urge the outgoing NPP government to be cautious, responsible and judicious in utilising the IMF $600 million and other funds that may be made available to Ghana from the World and other development partners,” he noted.

He said “under normal circumstances, the release of $600 million by the (IMF) to the government of Ghana should provide relief to the already overburdened and suffering Ghanaian.
“It is, however, evident that Ghanaians will continue to suffer as long as the -Bawumia and NPP remain in office. Implementing VAT on electricity consumption will increase tariffs by almost 21% and exacerbate the hardship on Ghanaians. This will affect the prices of goods, services, and transport fares,” he stated.
