Former Asante Kotoko striker Kabiru Moro has been pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital Tuesday when he collapsed on the pitch.
The footballer was playing in a community game in Akwatia in the Eastern Region when he collapsed.
According to family sources, when he was rushed to the hospital, he had some breath and could have been resuscitated but for the negligence of the hospital staff.
The sources said no information has been given as of yet regarding the cause of death.
He is, however, to be buried Wednesday in accordance with Islamic custom.
Aside Asante Kotoko, Kabiru Moro also featured for Real Tamale United (RTU) and champions Medeama SC in the Ghana Premier League.
He was 35.
