SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana has unveiled its 50th Anniversary Logo in a grand style. The unveiling of the 50th Anniversary Logo was a significant milestone for SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana, symbolizing a journey of love, care, and transformative impact on the lives of countless children.

The First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the Patron of SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana who graced this occasion applauded SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana for serving as a beacon of hope, compassion, and transformation in the lives of countless children in need of care and protection.

According to her, the organization’s commitment to Child Protection, Family Strengthening, Youth Development, and Community Empowerment has been unwavering, resulting in countless success stories.

“SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana has not only been a sanctuary for children without parental care but has also been a catalyst for positive change in local communities.

Through various child protection and community interventions, youth development programmes, and relevant partnerships, they have extended their reach beyond the confines of Children’s Village,” she stated.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo hinted that over the last five decades, SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana has consistently upheld the principles of love and respect, providing a secure and affectionate family environment for children in need.

She emphasized that the organization has left an indelible footprint on the landscape of child welfare, working tirelessly to ensure that no child grows up alone.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo, serving as a patron of SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana, highlighted that the organization, beyond being a haven for children without parental care, has been a catalyst for positive change in local communities.

Commending SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana, she lauded their flagship community intervention programs aimed at enhancing family strength to provide better care and support for the holistic development of children.

Expressing her appreciation, Mrs. Akufo-Addo emphasized that SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana has showcased an intensified commitment to the impact of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly as Bola Ray and serving as a Brand Ambassador for SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana, expressed admiration for the significant impact the organization has made over the past 50 years in the lives of countless children who have benefited from its programs.

He earnestly urged corporate entities in Ghana and individuals to extend their support to the institution, recognizing the crucial role it plays in transforming the lives of children in need.

The National Director of SOS Children’s Villages in Ghana, Alexander Mar Kekula, underlined the enduring commitment of SOS Villages Ghana to its core mission.

He emphasized the organization’s dedication to constructing families for children in need, guiding them in shaping their futures, and actively participating in the development of their communities.

Mr. Kekula conveyed that these fundamental principles were encapsulated in the design of their Golden Jubilee logo.

This emblem serves as a visual representation of SOS Children’s Villages Ghana’s role as a guardian and supporter of the nation’s children for the past 50 years.

The logo is intended to showcase a legacy characterized by transformative impact and unwavering care, symbolizing the organization’s pivotal role in the lives of children and its broader contribution to community development.

Yves Hanson-Nortey, the Member of Parliament for Tema Central and an alumnus of SOS – the Hermann Gmeiner School, reflected on the impactful role of SOS over the last five decades. He acknowledged that SOS had gone beyond merely providing a nurturing home for children who had lost or were at risk of losing parental care.

Hanson-Nortey pointed out that the organization has also played a pivotal role in training young individuals, imparting essential community leadership skills, and emphasizing the importance of upholding integrity in all aspects of their lives.
