Former Black Stars player, Raphael Dwamena to be laid to rest today. The funeral and burial rites will take place at Adjiriganor Astro Turf in Accra.
The former Ghanaian striker tragically passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, after collapsing on the football pitch during a league match in Albania. Playing for Egnatia, the player suffered a heart attack during the match against Partizani.
The 28-year-old former national star collapsed on the field and succumbed to the incident shortly after at Kavaja Hospital.
Dwamena, a former Red Bull Academy player, represented Ghana nine times and scored two goals. The Ghana Football Association has pledged to support the family with the final funeral arrangements for Dwamena.
