The wife of former Ghanaian President John Kufuor, Theresa Kufuor has died at the age of 88. She died on October 1, 2023, surrounded by close family and friends.
Kufuor was a retired nurse and midwife. She married John Kufuor in 1962 and they had five children together. She served as First Lady of Ghana from 2001 to 2009.
During her time as First Lady, Kufuor was involved in a number of charitable initiatives, including the Theresa Kufuor Foundation, which provides healthcare and educational support to children in Ghana.
She was also a vocal advocate for women’s rights and empowerment.
