Former French Ambassador Anne Sophie Avé has called on the Government of Ghana to confer diplomatic status on a number of Ghanaian musicians for their exceptional representation of the country on the global stage.

In a tweet on Sunday, July 30, 2033, Avé identified five prominent Ghanaian artists, each with their distinctive style and talent, who have been impressively raising Ghana’s profile on the international scene.

“These musicians have put Ghana on the map in a way that even the best ambassadors could not,” Avé said. “They are ambassadors of goodwill, and they deserve to be treated as such.”

The artists Avé mentioned include:

1. Sarkodie, a multiple award-winning rapper who is known for his social commentary and catchy melodies.

2.Stonebwoy, a dancehall artist who has won numerous international awards, including a Grammy nomination.

3.Black Sherif, a rising star who has taken the world by storm with his unique blend of Afrobeats and drill.

4.Shatta Wale, a controversial but popular dancehall artist who is known for his energetic live performances.

5.R2Bees, a hip hop duo who have been at the forefront of the Ghanaian music scene for over a decade.

Avé’s call for diplomatic passports for Ghanaian musicians has sparked a much-needed conversation about the role of music in promoting Ghana’s global profile.
