Former Ghana Football Association Vice President Fred Pappoe says he was unhappy with referee Rustum Senorgbe for failing to take appropriate action against Kotoko defender Andrew Appau for a dangerous foul on a Dreams FC player.
Appau recklessly hacked down a Dreams FC player in a loose ball situation causing a moment of shock for fans watching the matchday 17 clash at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu on Sunday afternoon.
“Yesterday I was watching a game involving Kotoko and Dreams FC and there was a dangerous tackle on a player which the referee failed to take the appropriate action on it,” he told Enoch Worlanyo on Asempa FM’s SportsNite show.
Kotoko succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Dreams FC with Benin international Aholou Avocevou and Agyenim Boateng Mensah scoring the goals for the Believers.
It is unknown whether the Ghana FA will open extra disciplinary action against the Kotoko defender for the tackle as calls have been high for referees to do more to protect players.
