A former X Factor contestant, Gabrielle Carrington, has been remanded in custody after appearing in court accused of attempting to murder a social media influencer in central London.
The 29-year-old is alleged to have driven a car into Klaudia Zakrzewska outside a nightclub in Soho in the early hours of Sunday.
Prosecutors told the court that the incident followed an altercation involving several people near the venue. It is alleged that Carrington returned to her vehicle and drove onto the pavement, striking Ms Zakrzewska and two others, including a security guard. Emergency services later confirmed that Ms Zakrzewska remains in a life-threatening condition, while the security guard sustained serious injuries.
Carrington has been charged with attempted murder, dangerous driving and drink driving, among other offences. She did not enter a plea during the hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court and is due to appear next at the Old Bailey on 19 May.
