UK-based Ghanaian boxer, Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy MacBones, granted an emotional interview that has gone viral on social media after his dominant victory in his second professional fight over the weekend.

The 33-year-old stepped into the ring on Saturday against veteran Darryl Sharp, delivering a stunning performance that resulted in a four-round decision win, moving him to a 2-0 record (1 KO).

Despite being impressed with himself, MacBones became emotional during his post-match interview as he recounted the difficult times he faced, revealing that he came from humble beginnings.

He said, “I’m so proud of myself. My mum, and my family back home. They are all watching me and I made them proud because I came from nothing. There was no light or water. Nothing. But today I see myself in one of the biggest promotions, Queensberry. Come on bro. There is a God. whatever results happened there I don’t care. I see myself as a winner no matter what and I don’t back down.”

Before relocating to the UK in 2012, he worked menial jobs such as construction work. MacBones also joined the sport later than most of his compatriots, with just 18 amateur fights, and the Darryl bout was his second professional fight since his debut earlier this year.

However, MacBones may have never reached this point if not for a sparring video of his that went viral. In the video, he weighed around 85kg and decided to take on a 115kg heavyweight.

MacBones has drawn comparisons with boxing legend Mike Tyson for his use of the “peekaboo” fighting style that the legendary boxer mastered during his active years.

The emotional interview with MacBones has generated numerous reactions on social media, with many commending his perseverance and determination to pursue his passion despite facing significant obstacles.
