The Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru and the Greater Accra Regional Minister Daniel Nii Titus Glover led residents of Ga Manshie for the Howomo clean-up exercise initiated by the Ga Mantse ahead of the Homowo celebration on Tuesday, July 2.

Shops around the central district of Accra were closed for the exercise.

Speaking on behalf of the Ga Mantse, the Sempe Mantse, Nii Adote Otintor expressed gratitude to his subjects for coming out to support the exercise.

Accra is being engulfed with filth, but added that with the participation of the traditional authorities and the indigenes, Accra will be clean again.

“Diseases do not discriminate against anybody; therefore, everyone should partake in this exercise,” he urged.

The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Titus-Glover, expressed gratitude to the participants and urged everyone to contribute to making Accra clean again.

He emphasised that this exercise was different from previous ones, as it would be ongoing until after the Homowo festival, promoting a culture of cleanliness and civic responsibility.
