
The Ghana Football Association has announced its youth football offseason calendar for 2026, reaffirming its commitment to developing the next generation of football talent across the country.Under its flagship youth development slogan, “Power To The Youth”, the GFA continues to place strong emphasis on grassroots and juvenile football as part of its long-term strategy to strengthen the foundations of the game.The offseason programme will begin with the Elite U15 Boys Colts Championship, which is scheduled to take place from May 29 to June 3, 2026. The competition will bring together some of the country’s most promising young players, offering them a platform to showcase their talent at the national level.Attention will then turn to the girls’ game with the Elite U15 Girls Inter-Regional Championship from June 5 to June 10, 2026. The tournament forms part of the GFA’s efforts to strengthen the women’s football development pathway and identify future talents for the national teams.The youth football calendar will continue with the Elite U17 Girls Colts Championship, set to be held from July 30 to August 4, 2026. The competition is expected to feature some of Ghana’s top young female players competing for honours and recognition.The MTN Elite U19 Championship will follow from August 24 to September 4, 2026. Widely regarded as one of the country’s most important youth tournaments, it serves as a key bridge between juvenile football and the higher levels of the game.The 2026 youth football programme will conclude with the KGL U17 Boys Colts Inter-Regional Championship, scheduled from September 3 to September 13, 2026. The tournament will bring together regional select sides from across the country and provide another important platform for talent identification and development.The GFA believes these competitions will continue to strengthen Ghana’s football ecosystem by creating opportunities for young players to develop, compete and progress through the football pathway.With youth development remaining a central pillar of the association’s strategic agenda, the 2026 offseason competitions are expected to play a significant role in shaping the future of Ghana football.All competitions will be staged at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
