Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Samuel Aboabire, has expressed his support for Black Stars head coach Otto Addo despite the team’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) for the first time in 20 years.
Otto Addo’s future with the national team remains uncertain after the disappointing qualifying campaign, but Aboabire believes the coach is performing well.
“Otto Addo is doing well as the Black Stars coach; the only issue is the team’s inability to score goals,” Aboabire said in an interview with Onua TV.
Addo signed a three-year contract with the GFA in February, with an option for an extension after a promising start during his initial stint. However, the recent struggles have raised questions about his long-term prospects.
The GFA has announced consultations with key stakeholders to decide on the coach’s future, with an official decision expected soon.
