Former Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has admitted switching allegiance from England to Ghana is still possible.

The English-born Ghanaian forward has already featured in three matches for the Three Lions with his last appearance coming in 2019 when England beat Kosovo 4-0 in a European qualifier.

The 22-year-old has since then missed out on subsequent call-ups due to his dip in form at Chelsea which has been largely blamed on injuries and lack of playing time.

He has however been approached by Ghana officials who are aiming to secure his services as confirmed by Chris Hughton, the Black Stars coach a few months ago.

Callum-Hudson Odoi, on the other hand, has stated he is hoping to find his feet in his new team Nottingham Forest which he joined on the cusp of the deadline of the summer transfer window and will soon make a decision on his future in international football.

According to him, Ghana is a good option but he would wait a little longer to be settled to make a choice.

“That decision hasn’t been made yet. I’m still thinking it over,” he told the Telegraph.

“Ghana is a very good option but let’s wait and see.

“Hopefully, once I start playing games here, maybe Gareth [Southgate] or Ghana will come.

“It’s a nice position to be in and hopefully, sooner or later we will know.”

Meanwhile, the Black Stars are preparing ahead of their 2026 World Cup qualifiers which will come off in November as well as the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which is scheduled to be hosted in Ivory Coast next year.
