Los Angeles Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney has praised the versatility of Ghana international Joseph Paintsil, describing the forward as a key asset to the team.
Paintsil has been a vital figure for the MLS side since joining in 2024, playing a significant role in their title-winning campaign during his debut season. Despite missing a few matches this season due to injury, the 28-year-old has returned in fine form, scoring twice in his last three league appearances.
He was instrumental in LA Galaxy’s recent draw against Vancouver, netting a crucial goal to earn his side a point and drawing commendation from his manager.
Vanney highlighted Paintsil’s pace and attacking threat, noting that his ability to run behind defenses creates constant problems for opponents. He added that the forward’s flexibility allows him to operate effectively across multiple positions, particularly in central areas where he is more involved in play.
The coach also emphasized that Paintsil’s speed and movement make him a difficult player for defenders to handle, reinforcing his importance to the team’s attacking system.
