Ghanaian singer, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda aka MzVee, has opened up about her experience as a Home Economics student at St. Mary’s Girls Secondary School in Accra.

According to her, she chose to study home economics because she thought it would be the easiest of all the other options which included Science, Agriculture, Visual Arts and General Arts.

She said that even though she seemed to be a “lazy” student who was looking for the easiest programme to pursue in school, she noticed that it was not as easy as she thought.

Speaking in an interview, the ‘Come and See My Moda’ singer said she immediately lost interest after going through the practicals of the programme.

“I picked Home Economics because I was lazy. I didn’t want to learn. I came to understand that it is one of the toughest things to actually do. Because the practical consumes so much of your time that you are unable to read your book.

“It was tough, and that’s where I learned my first lesson: nothing in life is easy. Everything is difficult. So far as you want to succeed at it, it is difficult,” she said.

“When I realized it was tough, I lost interest because, from the beginning, I didn’t want to do science or anything because I thought it would be too stressful, so I picked home economics, and I realized it was a mistake. It was very difficult,” she added.
