
Asante Kotoko have completed the signing of goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad, who has returned to the club after two years with Ethiopian side Coffee SC.The 23-year-old goalkeeper made more than 55 appearances for Coffee, keeping 28 clean sheets in all competitions during his time in Ethiopia.Danlad originally joined Kotoko in 2016 as a teenager and went on to make his Ghana Premier League debut against Aduana FC during the clubs title-winning 2021/22 campaign.His performances at Kotoko also earned him a place in Otto Addos Ghana squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.Speaking to Kotokos media after completing his return, Danlad said the club remains an important part of his career.I am very excited to be back here again. Even though I left two years ago, I always felt that the story had to continue, he said.To have another chance of playing for Asante Kotoko once again means everything to me and my family because the club has played a truly special role in my life.Danlad said his experience in Ethiopia has helped him mature, and he is returning with greater responsibility.I left as a young man, but now I am much more mature and have gained a lot of experience, he said.Together with my colleagues, both the old and new faces, we will give everything for this club to win every competition.Kotoko Director of Football Stanley Menzo backed the goalkeeper to make an impact.He has been to the World Cup and in my career I also played as a goalkeeper, so I know what it takes to be one, Menzo said.He knows the club, the environment and the expectations here, so we are happy to add him to the competitive squad we are building.
