Ghanaian football pundit and coach Christopher Nimley has expressed mixed feelings over the extension of Carlos Queiroz’s contract as head coach of the Black Stars, insisting he will support the Portuguese tactician despite questioning the decision.
Speaking on the renewal of Queiroz’s deal, Nimley said he does not believe the experienced coach is the right person to lead Ghana’s senior national team but stressed that he would back him for the success of the Black Stars.
“I will support Carlos Queiroz, but I don’t think he’s the right man for the Black Stars job,” Nimley stated while sharing his views on the Ghana Football Association’s decision.
The football analyst maintained that his reservations are based on his assessment of the team’s direction under Queiroz but emphasised that national interest must take precedence over personal opinions.
Carlos Queiroz recently had his contract extended as Black Stars coach, with expectations high as Ghana prepares for upcoming international assignments.
