Renowned Ghanaian broadcaster and philanthropist, Gifty Anti, has expressed deep pride in the growth and achievements of some of the women she has mentored and inspired in the media space.
In an exclusive interview with George Quaye on JoyPrime, the seasoned journalist reflected on the media journeys of Nana Aba Anamoah, AJ Sarpong, Serwaa Amihere, and Berla Mundi, expressing pride in how far they have come and established themselves in the industry.
“Very proud. Very proud. I’m so proud of all of them,” she said.
Gifty Anti noted that she has been intentional about keeping an eye on their progress over the years, describing their success as both refreshing and fulfilling to witness.
“I sit back and I’m very intentional about it to monitor some of these young ladies, and I see how far they’ve come and how well they are doing. And it’s quite refreshing,” she added.
Sharing fond memories of her early relationship with Nana Aba Anamoah, she described her as “like my baby,” revealing how she often looked out for her safety after work and supported her through personal and professional challenges.
“We talked a lot. She would come to me in the newsroom. We’d talk about all sorts of things… it was like a big sister–younger sister relationship,” she recalled.
She also praised Nana Aba’s determination and ambition, noting that her success today comes as no surprise.
“Nana Aba has always been very ambitious. She sets her eyes on something and she really is determined to get it done… she’s a fighter,” she said, adding that she admires her work with women through initiatives like Women of Valour.

On Serwaa Amihere, Gifty Anti revealed that although they did not work closely, she still took a keen interest in her growth, describing their interactions as warm and familial.
She also spoke about AJ Sarpong, highlighting a personal connection with her family as a reason she naturally took on a mentorship role.
“AJ’s dad was like my dad… so when she came into that space, automatically I had to look out for her,” she shared.
Touching briefly on Berla Mundi, she referenced her early days in the industry, including her time with Miss Malaika, as part of the journey she has followed with admiration.
