Ghana striker Inaki Williams has been excluded from the Athletic Bilbao squad as they embark on a pre-season tour in Mexico ahead of the new La Liga season.
The forward is expected to remain in Spain as he focuses on recovering from injuries which were sustained prior to the end of last season.
A few days ago, the 29-year-old reported for pre-season, but he went through individual workouts before joining the rest of his colleagues.
After subsequent assessments, the club decided to leave the striker behind so that he could fully recuperate before the season commences.
Williams will be training alongside De Marcos, Dani Garca, Villalibre, Yeray, Yuri Berchiche, and Imanol Garca de Albeniz.
His younger brother, Nico Williams is however among the nine attackers in the 23-man squad.
The Spanish outfit are expected to lock horns with Chivas and Necaxa to keep them battle-ready for the upcoming season.
Inaki Williams had a remarkable campaign last season scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 36 appearances.
He is expected to recover on time as Bilbao aims to improve upon their performance from last season in which they finished seventh narrowly missing out on European football.
