The Ministry of the Interior has announced a digitalisation drive aimed at modernising public service delivery and strengthening governance.

According to the Ministry, the initiative seeks to reduce reliance on manual and paper-based processes, minimise service delivery delays, improve operational efficiency, enhance transparency and accountability in service delivery, strengthen monitoring and enforcement mechanisms, and strengthen the Ministry’s oversight function.

As part of the initiative, services including registration and licensing of private security organisations, naturalisation and citizenship applications, licensing of arms, ammunition and explosives, as well as the issuance of public safety and operational permits, can now be accessed online through the MINTER e-Services Platform.

The Ministry said the platform allows applications to be submitted online, automates processing workflows, enables real-time tracking of approvals, and records all actions for accountability.

It added that the initiative will significantly reduce the need for physical visits to Ministry offices while improving transparency and efficiency in service delivery.
