Celebrity Ghanaian Lawyer, Cynthia Quarcoo has been confirmed dead.

Quarcoo, who was also the founder of Africa 1 Media, a talent management and public relations firm, died on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, after a short illness.

She was a highly respected lawyer who represented a number of high-profile clients, including Sarkodie, Rocky Dawuni, Stonebwoy, Edem, Stephanie Benson, Reggie Rockstone, Bisa Kdei, and Samini. She was also the legal advisor to the Musicians Union of Ghana.

However, Ghana Weekend.com takes a retrospective look at an interview she granted in 2017 where she labelled Sarkodie as one of the most sensible clients she has ever worked with.

“He is a model client, and I do work in other areas of law predominantly; investment ,banking etc and I will say that amongst all the clients that i have ,he is probably one of the sensible ones,” She said.

According to her,’ being a lawyer to Sarkodie isn’t difficult but the most difficult part is “he is a pocket lawyer”‘.And so he is not the type of client or artist you bring a contract to, you look at it, and you tell him to sign there.

“We have to go through a whole process of going through the whole thing together.I actually like to do that too but Sarkodie is very clued. There are instances where I would say: that clause is fine but he will say but ….”

The late celebrity lawyer who was speaking on the 7th edition of LEAD SERIES – then hosted by Jay Foley added, “It is always very intimidating working with people like that because you know he would not just accept something; you really need to know your stuff”.

Cynthia Quarcoo’s death is a great loss to the Ghanaian entertainment industry and to the legal profession. She was a brilliant lawyer and a dedicated advocate for her clients. She will be deeply missed.
