
John AntwiHearts of Oak unveiled new signing John Antwi during their pre-season friendly against All Blacks at Kpobiman on Friday.The 33-year-old forward was presented to the supporters after completing his move from Dreams FC on a two-year deal.Antwi, a lifelong Hearts of Oak fan, joins the Phobians for the first time in his senior career and has been brought in to help solve the clubs striking problems.Hearts have gone four seasons without a trophy and will hope Antwi can provide the goals needed to improve their fortunes in the new campaign.The Phobians won their last major trophy in June 2022, when they successfully defended the Ghana FA Cup. Since then, the club has struggled to add another major piece of silverware to its trophy cabinet.Antwi brings considerable experience to the Hearts attack, having played for several clubs in Ghana and abroad. His career has included spells with Ismaily, Al Shabab, Al Ahly, Misr El-Makasa and Pyramids before returning to Ghana with Dreams FC.He has also earned two caps for the Ghana national team.His unveiling at Kpobiman came as Hearts continued preparations for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season, with the club hoping the experienced forward can help end their trophy drought.
