KAAF University is pleased to announce that at a formal ceremony held at the Flagstaff House on December 19, 2024, the President of the Republic of Ghana officially granted a Presidential Charter to KAAF University alongside thirteen other private universities that have met the required standards of autonomy and excellence in tertiary education. This Presidential Charter, which signifies the highest achievement for a tertiary institution in Ghana, gives KAAF University the power to award its own certificates, diplomas and degrees for all its programmes accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), effective 20th June 2024. The official recognition by the Republic of Ghana also means that, from this point onwards, KAAF University will operate independently without the need for affiliation with mentoring institution.

Obviously, this unprecedented feat was not achieved on a silver platter. It was earned after a very rigorous seven-step review process that assessed several key performance indicators including KAAF University’s governance and management, infrastructure, finances, curriculum development, teaching and learning, societal engagement, just to mention a few. This significant award is not only a testament to KAAF University’s unwavering commitment to quality education, and innovation but also represents compliance with a major piece of legislation and regime change that will ensure that KAAF can continue in operation to serve its past, present and growing prospective domestic and international students.

The Journey to Charter

Established in 2006, KAAF University was conceptualized on the Adinkra symbol “Nea Onnim No Sua a Ohu” and guided by the motto “Knowledge and Excellence”. In 2008 KAAF University entered into formal affiliation as necessitated by the legal framework to commence institutional and programme accreditation. In the year 2010, KAAF obtained its first accreditation, marking a major step toward institutional recognition to train Job-ready graduates.
