The Legal Team of COP George Alex Mensah, one of the key witnesses implicated in the leaked tape, planning to oust the IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has been given more time to review contents of the audio and compare it with the transcript given them by the Parliamentary Committee probing the case.
This was after the witness insisted that there are so many doctored parts of the transcribed audio.
Earlier, COP Mensah referred to specific portions of the tape, which he indicated were repeated. He claimed that alone is evidence that the tape is doctored, although he cannot authenticate it.
COP Alex Mensah continued his attack on the Management capabilities of the IGP, accusing him of convening Police Management Board, ‘POMAB’ meetings without informing other members of the Board because he did not want particular members present.
After a back and forth over the authenticity of portions of the tape and the transcripts given to the witnesses and their Lawyers, the committee, chaired by Samuel Atta Kyea, MP for Abuakwa South, adjourned proceedings for an hour and a half.
