Asante Kotoko’s new era under caretaker coach Abdul Gazele started with a 1-1 draw against Legon Cities on Thursday at El Wak Stadium in Accra, Ghana.
This result comes after the club sacked Seydou Zerbo on Monday, following a winless run of games.
The Porcupine Warriors took the lead in the 20th minute through captain Richard Boadu’s penalty, but they failed to capitalise on several chances to extend their lead.

This would come back to haunt them, as Legon Cities managed to level the score line in the 70th minute with a goal from Alex Aso.
Kotoko’s failure to secure all three points means they remain outside the top four, sitting in sixth place and six points adrift of the top. This marks the second consecutive game where the club has dropped points.
