Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy met with one of his biggest fans, Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus, in Amsterdam where they were interviewed by the Dutch club’s media team.
Kudus, who often plays Stonebwoy’s music in the Ajax dressing room, explained that he related to the lyrics of the artist’s songs and found them spiritual.
He said, “His songs are spiritual to me… I just relate [to the songs] spiritually and most of it on how it can have an impact on me… [Music] is all around the work I do so I need to listen to the right stuff and the stuff that can really touch me and uplift my soul in the work I do.”
Stonebwoy expressed his appreciation for Kudus’ support in promoting his music outside of Ghana. Kudus has been playing Stonebwoy’s songs frequently, particularly during rehabilitation times when he was recovering from injury.
Kudus stressed the importance of music in his life as a footballer, as it plays a crucial role during travel and pre-game preparations.
“80 per cent of our football life journey depends on music… [Music] is all around the work I do so I need to listen to the right stuff and the stuff that can really touch me and uplift my soul in the work I do,” he said.
