Debibi United FC have secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League for the very first time in the club’s history after an impressive 3-1 victory over Tamale City FC at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The highly anticipated Division One League playoff saw both Zone One champions battle for a place in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.

Tamale City qualified after topping Zone One A with 55 points, while Debibi United finished first in Zone One B with 60 points.

The Golden Eagles initially looked set for a dream start after Victor Kodom opened the scoring account, but Debibi United responded brilliantly to turn the game around in emphatic fashion.

The hero of the afternoon was Kwadwo Antwi, who produced a sensational first-half hat-trick to inspire the ‘United for Victory’ to a memorable comeback win. His clinical display proved decisive as the club sealed a historic promotion to Ghana’s top flight.
