Ghanaian forward Kwaku Karikari has completed a permanent move to Serbian SuperLiga side Zeleznicar Pancevo after the club activated a record 600,000 Euros deal to sign him from Danish outfit AC Horsens.The 24-year-old has penned a three-year contract, bringing an end to his association with Horsens after spending the past two seasons on loan with the Serbian club.Karikari earned a permanent stay in Pancevo following an impressive 2025/26 campaign, where he scored nine goals and provided two assists in 28 league appearances.His outstanding performances played a key role in helping Zeleznicar secure a historic place in the qualification rounds of the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League.The transfer fee of 600,000 Euros makes Karikari the most expensive signing in the history of Zeleznicar, underlining the club’s confidence in the Ghanaian striker.Speaking after signing his new contract, Karikari expressed his delight at returning to a club he now considers home.”I feel very good and I am happy to be back in Pancevo. This place is like home for me and I’m very happy to be here again. I played here last season, and everything in this club suits me – the coach, the style of play. That’s why I’m here again, to continue improving myself,” he said.The former Horsens attacker also outlined his ambitions for the new campaign, insisting he wants to build on last season’s success.”Zeleznicar is very important in my career. Last season I improved a lot and I hope that will be the case again this season, even more. I want to bring intensity and goals to this team and help the club qualify for Europe again.”Karikari also revealed he had closely followed the club’s UEFA Conference League qualifying ties against Portuguese side Sporting Braga and believes the squad has improved significantly.”I watched the matches against Braga. The team looked very good, even better than last season. I hope we can achieve great results together,” he added.The Ghanaian striker also paid tribute to the club’s supporters, crediting their backing as a major source of motivation.”The support of the fans means a lot to me. It motivates me to score as many goals as possible. I hope to score more than 10 goals this season.”Karikari will continue to share the dressing room with fellow Ghanaians Sumaila Wasiu and Abdul Yusif as Zeleznicar Pancevo look to mount another strong domestic campaign while pursuing European football.The club will be hoping their record investment pays off as Karikari aims to establish himself as one of the Serbian SuperLiga’s leading forwards.
