Without a doubt, good music easily moves the soul and spirit in a way like no other. It has a unique way of helping us in our times of sadness or anger, makes us feel better and releases some of the anger as well as sadness that we may be feeling. In addition, good music definitely tunes up our good times.
On the night of Saturday 25th April 2026, Ghanaian Afro-pop artist, Lamisi, will officially launch her new album, titled “Let Us Clap”. The exclusively private event is scheduled to take place at The Ghana Club, located at Riviera Drive, off the John Evans Atta Mills Highway in Accra.
It promises to be a powerful night of music, culture, and purpose, from thrilling performances to captivating stories behind the album. Beyond the fun and excitement, the launch event stands as a concert with a cause. Proceeds from the event will be used to provide reusable sanitary pads for young girls in the Northeast of Ghana, under the Lamisi Fata Foundation.
The nine-track “Let Us Clap” album celebrates women clapping traditions from northern Ghana while championing female empowerment and social change. It flips the script on the notion of traditional music, finding gold in the intersection between ancient organic grooves and studio-generated electronics, and aeons-old clapping patterns and heavily vocoded vocals. Throughout, tempos push and pull, tension builds and releases as tomorrow is in dialogue with the past. Songs on the album are “Painkiller”, “No Orgasm in Heaven”, “Come”, “Nisaal”, “Tumsum”, “Unity”, “AGOL” and “Zane Ya Kinkin”.
The Real World Records signee will take her audiences on a vibrant journey through live music, dance, and storytelling with an extraordinary delivery of a rich and culturally rooted performance filled with energy, authenticity, and community spirit. The night promises an unforgettable live experience, featuring an incredible lineup of artists and creatives, who will be helping drive a meaningful course.
