Leeds United have put forth a bid of €10 million to acquire Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil from KRC Genk, according to The Athletic.
The proposed transfer package also includes a sell-on clause for the Belgian club, who are yet to respond to the offer. Should progress stall, Leeds is prepared to explore alternative options.
The English Championship club’s interest in Paintsil comes after Genk had previously negotiated a swap deal with Southampton, involving the Ghanaian and striker Paul Onuachu. However, both players declined the proposed move, redirecting attention towards Leeds United.

Paintsil has expressed his desire to join Leeds United to Genk, making his preference known. Personal terms for the 25-year-old are expected to be easily manageable.
Paintsil, who has been with Genk since 2018, signed a contract extension in September 2022, extending his commitment to the club until June 2026.
The winger’s standout performance during the last season contributed significantly to Genk’s near victory in the Belgian Pro League. Paintsil demonstrated his prowess by netting 17 league goals in 36 appearances.
The former Tema Youth man has made eight appearances for the Black Stars.
