Legendary American filmmaker known for telling poignant stories from the African-American perspective, Spike Lee, has been spotted in Ghana.
Spike Lee is on a visit to Ghana as part of the Beyond the Return initiative.
He arrived at the Kotoka international airport on Sunday, March 26th 2023, a day ahead of U.S. Vice President, Kamala Harris’s own visit to Ghana.

Spike Lee received a warm welcome from the Beyond the Return secretariat, with dancers and top secretariat members including Director Annabelle Renee at the airport.
The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) Kwesi Agyeman, was also at the Kotoka International Airport.

Born Shelton Jackson Lee, Spike Lee is an American filmmaker and actor. Lee’s work has continually explored race relations, issues within the black community, the role of media in contemporary life, urban crime and poverty, and other political issues.
He has won numerous accolades for his work, including an Academy Award, a Student Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, a BAFTA Award, and two Peabody Awards.
