Liverpool have secured the services of midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig in a major summer signing.
The Reds activated the Hungarian’s release clause, worth 70 million euros (£60m), to bring him to Anfield on a five-year contract.
Pending the acquisition of a work permit, Szoboszlai will join Liverpool following the recent signing of Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, for a fee of £35m.
The 22-year-old Hungarian talent arrives at Liverpool with an impressive track record, having won the German Cup in each of the last two seasons with RB Leipzig. During the previous Bundesliga campaign, Szoboszlai made 31 appearances, contributing six goals and eight assists.
Szoboszlai, who joined RB Leipzig in January 2021 from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, has showcased his abilities with 20 goals and 21 assists in 91 appearances since his move.
