Certified Global Economist and Independent Presidential Candidate, Dr. Sam Ankrah has called for fair labour practices in the country as the nation celebrates workers today, May 1, 2024.
In a speech to celebrate the hardworking Ghanaian workers who toil day and night to contribute to the economic and social development of the country, Dr. Ankrah mentioned that, there is the need for the country to practice fair labour. This he said involved improved working conditions and a commitment to the protection of the rights and dignities of the workers.
“As we celebrate this day, I want to emphasize the urgent need for fair labor practices, improved working conditions, and a commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of all workers. As the leader of Alternative Force for Action (AFA) and a presidential candidate in the upcoming 2024 elections, I pledge to prioritize the welfare and well-being of workers if elected as the President of Ghana”, he stated.
The Independent candidate who seeks to break the duopoly of the NPP and NDC in the forthcoming December elections also seized the opportunity to voice out the visions his outfit has in stock for the Ghanaian worker should he be voted and made President in 2025.
According to him, the average Ghanaian worker needs an improved living minimum wage with what he described as a decent earnings. He also mentioned the need for promoting the health and safety of the Ghanaian worker, through the practice of safe works.
He further expressed appreciation to all workers in the country for working tirelessly, with unwavering dedication to the development and progress of our nation.
“On this momentous occasion of International Workers’ Day, I extend my warmest felicitations to all Ghanaian workers across the country. Today, we honor your tireless efforts, unwavering dedication, and significant contributions to our nation’s progress and development”, he added.
