Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have received a donation of GHC 100,000 from the Tobinco Group of Companies following their recent triumph in the just-ended season.

Due to their victory, the Tarkwa-based side will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League next season and are looking to mobilise funds to enable them to augment their team as well as pay for several bills that come with the competition’s participation.

As part of their trophy tour, the team presented the trophy to the CEO of Tobinco on Wednesday afternoon compelling him to make the generous gesture as he handed offer the gift while promising for further support in their CAF Champions League campaign.

The team have also been promised a similar amount by the speaker of Parliament ahead of the new season.

Medeama have made two appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup in the past and missed out in the group stage in their last appearance in 2016
