Melcom Limited has expressed appreciation to the Ghana National Fire Service, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Ghana Police and other emergency responders for their swift intervention following a fire outbreak at one of its warehouse facilities at the Tema Free Zones enclave.

The fire, which occurred on Saturday, July 4, 2026, was brought under control following the efforts of emergency personnel and other first responders.

In a statement issued on Sunday, July 5, management of the Melcom Group of Companies praised the response teams for their professionalism and commitment.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to the Ghana National Fire Service, NADMO, Ghana Police, Emergency personnel and all other first responders who acted swiftly and worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control,” Melcom stated.

“We are grateful for their courage, professionalism, and dedication,” the company added.

Melcom confirmed that there were no deaths or injuries resulting from the fire, describing the safety of its workers, partners and surrounding communities as its top priority.

“We are deeply thankful that there were no casualties or injuries resulting from the incident. The safety and well-being of our employees, partners and surrounding communities remain our highest priority,” the statement said.

The company said it is cooperating with the appropriate authorities to investigate the cause of the fire while conducting its own assessment of the extent of damage.

“Our management team is collaborating with the relevant authorities as they assess the incident and establish its cause. We are also conducting an internal assessment of the damage and implementing the necessary measures to secure the facility,” it added.

Despite the setback, Melcom assured customers that it remains focused on restoring operations with minimal disruption while ensuring continued availability of stocks across its outlets.
