Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has presented some food items to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on behalf of Mr Ibrahim Mahama at the Base Supply Depot.

The items included 1000 bags of 25kg rice, 200 cartons of tin tomatoes, 200 cartons of mackerel and 417 cartons of cooking oil.

Dr Omane Boamah, in his remarks, acknowledged GAF’s dedication, sacrifices and contributions to safeguarding Ghana’s sovereignty and supporting its development.

He noted that despite facing several challenges, GAF had consistently demonstrated unwavering commitment to its duties. He also posited that, during his recent visit to Burma Camp and the 37 and Afari military hospital, he identified medical, accommodation and feeding challenges. He therefore pledged the government’s support in addressing these challenges.

The Chief of the Defence Staff, Major General William Agyapong, received the donated items on behalf of GAF, assuring that all the items would be utilised for their intended purpose.
