The widow of late Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has appealed for public support, saying she and her children are facing financial difficulties more than two years after his death.
In an interview with popular Nigerian content creator King Mitchy, she revealed that the family has struggled to meet basic needs, including rent, school fees and utility bills. She said their electricity had been disconnected for two months due to unpaid bills, forcing them to charge their phones elsewhere and rely on well water at home.
The actor’s widow also disclosed that her children’s education was under threat because of outstanding school fees. One of Mr Ibu’s daughters praised her mother for working tirelessly to keep the family going despite the challenges.
