Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Nana Yaw Amponsah has admitted that there is an existing friction between himself and the board chairman of the club Dr Kwame Kyei.
Following reports suggesting that there is a form of disunity between the management of the club and the board, a lot of fanatics have called for the dissolution of both entities while others have suggested the sack of the CEO which they believe will bring the club back on its toes.
Nana Yaw Amponsah who has refused to speak on the matter has finally conceded that his relationship with Dr Kwame Kyei has not been a smooth one, unlike during the beginning of his mandate.
Despite claiming to offer the necessary courtesy to the board chairman, the CEO says he would be surprised if Dr Kwame Kyei never admitted their strained relationship.
“Personally, I don’t have any issue with Dr. Kwame Kyei as I stand. I give him the maximum respect wherever and whenever I meet him but our relationship and how to communicate as CEO and his board chairman is not good like the beginning.” Nana Yaw Amponsah told Wontumi TV.
“I will be a little bit surprised if he says he has no problem with me. I wasn’t trained to meet hatred with hatred,” he added.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko have missed out on retaining the Ghana Premier League title due to inconsistent performances throughout the season which resulted in the sack of Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo.
The Porcupines have however almost sealed a top four spot with just a point away.
