Wife of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Alma Pokua Adade-Prempeh, paid a courtesy call on four prominent traditional rulers in Accra earlier today.
The visit, which forms part of the NPP’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders ahead of the 2024 general elections, saw Mrs. Adade-Prempeh and her team warmly received by Nii Doodo Insaki (Otublohum Mantse), Nii Ayikia IV (Akanmadji Mantse), Nii Niikoi Ola Amashie (Asere Djorshie Mantse), and Nii Ahene Nunoo (Abola Mantse).
During her interactions with the traditional rulers, Mrs. Adade-Prempeh emphasized the vital role that chiefs play in the governance system of Ghana, highlighting their position as unifying forces within communities and key partners in the country’s development. She acknowledged the historical and cultural importance of the chieftaincy institution and reiterated the NPP’s deep respect for it.
“The NPP government values the institution of chieftaincy and recognizes the important role it plays in our nation’s progress. A future Dr. Bawumia-led administration will work to further strengthen this institution to meet the aspirations of our people,” she stated, underscoring the party’s commitment to supporting traditional leadership in Ghana.
Mrs. Adade-Prempeh was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including the Second Vice Chairperson of the NPP, Madam Rita Asobayire, Former Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku and Former Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Gladys Ashitey, Former Attorney General, Ayikoi Otoo, Deputy National Organizer, Chris Lloyd Nii Kwei, Deputy National Youth Organizer, Jay Hyde, and Parliamentary Candidate for Odododiodio Constituency, Manaf Sowah.
The traditional rulers expressed their gratitude for the visit, offering words of encouragement to Mrs. Adade-Prempeh and her team. The warm reception reinforced the NPP’s message of hope and development as the party intensified its campaign efforts ahead of the 2024 general elections. Mrs. Adade-Prempeh thanked the chiefs for their continuous leadership in their communities and pledged the party’s ongoing collaboration with traditional authorities to drive the country’s development agenda forward.
