The Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, Mussa Dankwah, has said that there will be shocks in the ongoing New Patriotic Party‘s parliamentary primaries per the data available.
Delegates of the governing NPP are voting in constituencies with incumbent members of parliament after the orphan constituency polls held in December last year.
Responding to whether incumbent MPs will retain their seats or not, Mr. Musah said, “I think from what we are seeing with the data, we are going to have some shocks, incumbents losing their seats in today’s primaries.”
“And also, some challengers who appear to be making some waves probably will fall on the line, so it will be a mixbag for both incumbents and challengers today,” he added.
Touching on some specific constituencies, Mr. Mussah shared the concerns coming from K.T. Hammond, MP for Adansi Asokwa constituency, who has threatened to beat up one of his opponents, Sammy Binfoh Darkwa.

“Adansi Asokwa, I share in his concerns. If you look at the data that is coming through from his constituency when we did the poll, it was just about 23% ahead with Binfoh on 4%.
“But unfortunately for him, he had about 67% of the delegates saying they are either undecided or they will not disclose. And if you’re a sitting MP and people cannot decide clearly whether they are voting for you or not at this stage, then you could be in trouble,” he told Berla Mundi on TV3.
Another keenly contested constituency that might fall to a challenger, according to the Global Info Analytics poll, is Dome/Kwabenya in the Greater Accra region.
The data shows the incumbent MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo, may lose the seat to her closest contender, Mike Oquaye Jr., whom she beat in the 2020 elections with less than 10 votes.
