Okaikwei Central MP, Patrick Boamah has reacted to reports that the opposition NPP did not implement and collect betting tax from the everyday Ghanaian.
The politician on the ticket of the NPP added his cent to the ongoing issue when he was speaking in an interview on Lawson FM.
According to Patrick Boamah, the former finance minister’s statement that the NPP never implement or collected betting tax was a slip of tongue.
According to him, “The 10% withholding tax remains, but the 10% on winnings was what he was referring to. I believe there was a communication gap, and he will explain it tomorrow”.
Meanwhile, Hon. Boamah stated that the NPP will hold a press briefing tomorrow to summarize the 2025 budget for Ghanaians. He added that Amin Adam will use the opportunity to clarify his statement.
