Ghanaian Fashion Icon, Richard Brown, widely known as Osebo the Zaraman, is gearing up to unveil his collections under his name. The exclusive line features slippers, sandals, shoes, clothes, and more.
Notable figures expected to attend the event include Nigerian actor Jim Iyk, Kwame Preko, Andy Dosty, KKD, and others.
The grand unveiling is scheduled for 5 pm on January 12, 2024, this Friday at the Sunlodge Hotel in Accra, marking a significant milestone in Osebo’s fashion journey.
During an interview on GTV’s breakfast show on January 10, 2024, Osebo emphasized that one cannot be a fashionista by keeping things simple; fashion, according to him, requires people to talk about you. He expressed his desire to always appear unique, avoiding imitation, and shrugged off negative comments, emphasizing his focus on reaching his destination.
“I am a guy who was born with fashion and style. If you’re not bold, you can’t become a fashionista because at some point, people will be laughing at you. But you have to wear what is unique, even though they won’t understand.”
Osebo shared his vision of becoming a “shoe hunter,” addressing the scarcity of quality shoes in Ghana. Although his shoes are not locally made due to the lack of essential materials and machinery, he believes the Osebo brand will put Ghana on the world fashion map.
Reflecting on Ghana’s position in the fashion industry, he acknowledged the country’s progress and expressed confidence in its rising prominence.
Recounting memorable moments in his career, Osebo mentioned being interviewed by BBC two years ago and receiving recognition from American comedian Tunde Knott, Jennifer, Tonton Dikeh, and Jim Iyke from Nigeria. The latter not only mentioned his name but also praised Osebo’s unique style.
