The 11th edition of the Guinness Ghana DJs Awards, held at the Grand Arena in Accra on Saturday, November 25, was a vibrant celebration of music and talent.
The event, themed “Moved by Music,” featured electrifying performances by a diverse array of DJs and musicians including the Self-acclaimed Dancehall King Charles Nii Armah-Mensah professionally known as Shatta Wale.
One notable absence on the night was Afro-Dancehall star Livingstone Etse Satekla aka Stonebwoy, who had been advertised to perform alongside his long-standing rival Shatta Wale.
Speculation about Stonebwoy’s absence has been addressed by Shatta Wale’s manager, Sammy Flex. He revealed that the Ghana Police Service had advised the event organisers against hosting both artists at the same event.
Sammy Flex affirmed extensively that the police service is currently taking precautionary measures to prevent any potential clashes between the two artists’ camps, which have a history of animosity.
This decision reflects the police’s commitment to maintaining public safety and ensuring a peaceful environment for all.
