The Ghana Police Service has cautioned final-year students sitting for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) to celebrate responsibly and avoid any form of unlawful conduct as they prepare to complete their examinations on Friday, June 19, 2026.
In a statement issued ahead of the conclusion of the examinations, the Police urged candidates across the country to remain disciplined and law-abiding while marking the end of their secondary school journey.
According to the Service, acts such as violence, vandalism, arson, assault, and other criminal activities could have serious consequences on the future of students and undermine the academic achievements they have worked hard to attain.
The Police stressed that anyone found engaging in such acts would be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

“The Service reminds students that acts of violence, vandalism, arson, assault, and any other unlawful conduct carry serious criminal consequences that can permanently jeopardise their futures and derail the academic careers they have worked hard to build.
“The Police will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute any student found engaging in such conduct,” part of the statement read.
The caution follows two recent incidents involving students in the Upper East Region. At Zebilla Senior High Technical School, two students were arrested over the alleged burning of a teacher’s apartment. In a separate incident at Bawku Senior High School, four students were arrested in connection with rioting, assaulting school staff, and destroying both school and private property.
The Ghana Police Service called on students, parents, guardians, and school authorities to work together in promoting discipline, respect, and peaceful conduct during and after the examination period.
The Service encouraged all candidates to celebrate their achievements responsibly and avoid actions that could negatively affect their future aspirations.
