The President, John Dramani Mahama, is set for a packed week of activities as he rolls out three major programmes aimed at empowering young Ghanaians and improving healthcare support across the country.

Member of Parliament for Abura Asebu Kwamankese and presidential spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, announced the initiatives in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on 27 April 2025.

The week of action begins on Monday with the launch of the Adwumawura Programme, an initiative targeting 10,000 young business owners nationwide. The programme is designed to provide direct support to entrepreneurs to help scale their businesses, create jobs, and stimulate economic growth.

On Tuesday, President Mahama will unveil the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also branded as “Mahama Cares”. The fund is expected to offer financial assistance to Ghanaians suffering from chronic diseases, easing the burden of high long-term medical costs for individuals and families.

The final launch will take place on Wednesday with the introduction of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP), which aims to equip tens of thousands of youth with artisanal and vocational skills to enhance employability and boost Ghana’s skilled workforce.

Further details regarding venues, eligibility criteria, and rollout timelines for the programmes are expected to be announced soon.
