Prophet Bernard ElBernard, the General Overseer of Spiritlife Revival Ministries, recently shared the story of his conversion to Christianity during an appearance on Kingdom FM. He revealed that he had once been a Muslim, adopting the name Zakari during his Senior High School days. “I became a Muslim because of a close friend I admired and followed. His lifestyle deeply influenced me,” he recalled.
In 1999, after moving to Takoradi, Prophet ElBernard lost contact with his friend. It was around that time he discovered Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams on television. Interestingly, what caught his attention wasn’t the preaching, but the Archbishop’s style. “I used to watch him every Sunday, not for his sermons, but because I admired how he dressed and spoke,” he admitted.
One day, during a broadcast, Archbishop Duncan-Williams made an altar call, and Prophet ElBernard found himself repeating the words. “I didn’t realize what I had done until my older sister told me I had been born again,” he shared.
Shortly after his conversion, his spiritual journey took a remarkable turn. “Within three months of becoming a Christian, I started experiencing visions and hearing things, and I realized I had a prophetic calling,” he explained. That marked the beginning of his path as a man of God.
