Prosper Narteh Ogum has revealed his ambitions after being introduced as the head coach of Asante Kotoko for a second term.

Ogum’s return to the club comes a year after his unexpected departure, attributed to misunderstandings with the previous management. His earlier tenure saw Kotoko end their eight-year drought in the Ghana Premier League title.

In the wake of the departure of the board of directors and management, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu appointed an Interim Management Committee (IMC) to take charge, with Ogum being one of its four members. Now, he has taken on the mantle of head coach once again, a move that has ignited excitement among the fans who hold faith in the former WAFA coach’s abilities.

During the unveiling ceremony in Kumasi on Monday, Ogum expressed his elation, stating, “I’m overly excited and overwhelmed about this opportunity and nothing else comes close, probably the day I got married, but I have to say that I am excited to be here again.”

Ogum is determined to create a strong and competitive team, both domestically and on the international stage. Ogum underlined his commitment to restoring the club’s winning culture, saying, “My first year is to put together a very formidable team that can compete both domestically and internationally. However, you can’t be at Kotoko and not think of bringing success.”

Ogum will now concentrate on preparing the team for the upcoming season, with new players expected to join and those who are not in his plans to leave. In September, Kotoko will kick off their league campaign at home against Heart of Lions.
