Qatar has provided 15 buses and a consignment of security equipment to Senegal to support preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which will run from October 31 to November 13.The Games will mark the first time an Olympic event is held on African soil.The initiative reflects Qatars commitment to supporting host nations in delivering major sporting events, drawing on its experience hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and other international tournaments.Qatars Ambassador to Senegal, H.E. Youssef Shaban Ibrahim Al Sada, said the support reflected the strong ties between the two countries and the importance of international cooperation through sport.Qatar and Senegal have a strong and long-standing relationship, and we are pleased to support Senegals preparations for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, a historic moment for sports in Africa, he said.Sharing the expertise we have gained from hosting major sporting events is among the most valuable contributions we can make, and reflects our belief in the role of sport in strengthening cooperation between nations.Qatar has supported other host nations in recent years, using its experience in organising major tournaments to promote cooperation in sport and strengthen relations between countries.
